There is nothing like exploring a new city.
Most people have their list of must see places, and once they have checked them off are keen to experience the city from more of a local perspective. This is the best way we can get to know the heart of a city. After all it is the locals that create it’s beat.
One way to get to know the real city is to take a city tour with a local.
Urban Adventures
“Intrepid Travel and the WHL Group have joined together to create Urban Adventures, a new style of travel experience for those who want to get off the beaten path and really connect with the destination.
The experience can be as short as a couple of hours, or a whole day, but in every case Urban Adventures will take you to interesting places to meet locals, and really see what makes the place tick.
Every Urban Adventure is designed to give travellers a unique insight into the destination as well as support local communities; their culture and the environment. Urban Adventures are fun, insightful and a true win-win experience.”
We have 10 Urban Adventure day Tours to give away. It doesn’t really matter where in the world you are right now as they do tours in North or South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, New Zealand or the Pacific.

I want to do the Vancouver by bike. We just explored San Francisco by bike and it was so much fun so keen to bike around other cities now.

My husband and I are heading to Adelaide to kick off our road trip to Sydney next month. I’ve been trying to find the perfect tour for us to see Adelaide, since we won’t be there for very long. I think the Adelaide Experience looks great and would suit our needs for the 2.5 days that we’d be there! It’d be perfect!

Much as I love biking (in the past 2 weeks I did 4-hour tours around Paris, Hamburg, and Cologne!), I could totally go for some rest and relaxation these days. I’ll be in Budapest later this month, so the “Budapest Sights & Spas” tour sounds heavenly! It will be my first time there, so experiencing the thermal baths and visiting the gorgeous synagogue and the church carved into a hill would be amazing!
P.S. Cool giveaway, guys!

I would love the New York Village Tour. New York has been a dream of mine for so many years. I’m not an actor or singer looking for my big break, I would just love to live there or experience what it would be like to live there and I think that tour would provide just that!
There’s some excellent tours there but my choice would be the ‘River to the Sky tour’ in our hometown of Melbourne. It looks really unique and a whole lot of fun.

so many San Fran highlights in one trip. I’d never be able to do them all by myself! Especially looking forward to going on a tram after watching countless “Full House” episodes as a child, and I’ve never been on a tram before!
This trip looks like I’d learn a lot, see a lot and have lots of fun!
It would have to be Hidden Berlin – a great tour showing the other side of my favourite city.
I think I am with you Caz, the bike tour of Bangkok sounds pretty cool so put me down for one of those

Thanks for sharing these Urban Adventures, never heard of them before and so many of them sound good. We would love to do the Hobart by kayak trip or the Adelaide trip to see Koalas and Kangaroos! But, Caz I agree with you trying to decide on just one tour is tough!
The Alleyways of Queenstown trip sounds great too! Beer tasting, yes please!

Geez, it’s so hard to choose! But, seeing as we’re in Melbourne at the moment, I’d love to do the Moonlight Kayak Tour in Melbourne – I’ve never been kayaking before!

The “Hidden Barcelona” tour is something I’d love and aspire to do. I have heard great and wonderful things about Barcelona, the love, culture, romantic language…and the food. I am a big food lover and the tapas and spanish-style food looks wonderful. Best of all though, the people are something Im most interested in, the culture they live and the way they interact.
I’m really intrigued by the moonlight kayak tour of the Yarra down in Melbourne. I eyed it off earlier today and would love to get a chance to try it.
So many to choose from! We’d love to try the Great Wall experience in beijing! We’re already part of your FB community and your newsletter readers

How to choose??? I think I’d go with the Mekong Discovery tour, because it would be a super cool way of exploring the canals. But there are so many that look amazing!

I’m planning to travel around Eastern Europe in summer 2012, so the Budapest Explorer tour sounds like it would be a great introduction to Budapest! I like going on tours when I first get to a city, because they can really help you figure out what you might like to see more of later.
And of course I’m already a Facebook fan!

In between the safaris… a “Table Mountain Hike” in Cape Town, South Africa would be bitchin.. just for the views, photo op and quietness to remind myself — “Wow! I’m in Africa.”
I’ve got no idea which one I would find most interesting: probably one of the Krakow ones.
there’s so many more I could choose from though: the London East End one, any of the Venice ones (especially the one that goes to the islands), the Stockholm walking tour….

I’d love to explore the Path to a Hidden Monastery in Katmandu!
Hey Caz! I really want to go the sunrise hike in Cannes, Australia! We are moving to Brisbane soon, and I think it would be awesome to go up to Cannes on a weekend trip or something. So please enter me in the contest!

Hello !
I would love any of them obviously but if i have to win only one i think i would opt for the San Francisco Kaleidoscope tour now !
Thank you !
Not nearly as glamorous as some of the other entries, but I would love to take the THE D YOU MUST SEE tour. I am moving to the Detroit area this summer and this would be the perfect way to get to know my new city! It seems like everyone is leaving Michigan, while I am going there, so I should get some bonus points for that at least, right?
I am also all in for the y Travel Blog experience – Facebook, newsletter – you name it, I signed up for it!
Happy travels everyone!
I would love to see “Lisbon Sunset Fado & Tapas”. I live here now and with the huge crise we are facing it’s not possible to travel in 2012, like used to do. Going on a Urban Adventure City it’s an amazing opportunity to know better Lisbon and to kill the ‘travelling disease’
We are going to San Francisco next year to visit my Brother and Sister-in-law so the San Francisco Kaleidoscope Tour would be really fantastic for taking in the sites and getting a feel for the city.

We’re in London at the end of the month. I’d love to do the London City Streets Tour. We’re a family and it sounds perfect – something of interest for everyone, public transport for a portion of it to save tired legs. Can’t wait to see what other cities they expand into over time.

Aww.. does my vote still count if Gerard beat me to the comment?!
Although he didn’t pick a bad one, Great Wall would be an awesome experience. With our upcoming round-the-world, I wouldn’t mind throwing in Cycling Kyoto when we’re there next May! It’s so hard to choose just one among so many great tours.

I would go for the Seattle Walk, Bike & Paddle Adventure. I can stay active on the day tour which is cool. On this day tour, you will cycle, walk, kayak and learn more about local life, culture, history and nature in Seattle.
FB fan and newsletter for sure!
I’d like to see Chicago, the Urban Nature Tour. It sounds great.
I’d pick any of the Melbourne tours – I’d love to see my home town from a new perspective!
