7 Tips On How To Reach Us & Get Our Response
We love hearing from our supporters, followers and potential partners, from all around the world! We love getting to know you and forging new, positive relationships.
If you want genuine help with travel information, sharing travel stories and assisting our travel community, then we’re always here. ESPECIALLY if you want to get to know us, connect and engage with us and the y Travel Blog community.
The bad news is, sometimes when we look at our email inbox, it does our head in!
You know, as bloggers, it’s just the two of us – Caz and Craig.
In the past, we have tried very hard to respond to every single email. Now, we realise, this isn’t the best way to serve you, our community.
The fact is, we get so many emails from disingenuous people who distract us and waste our time, when we should be focusing on the people who matter most to us. YOU!
So, we thought we’d give you some tips on how to contact us and make it easy for you to get our response.
1. Would you like to get to know us better?
We are very social people. Wish we could have a virtual beer with you, but in social media, we’ll settle for tweets, facebook posts and blog comments! That’s what social media is all about. We love it and we’re in it daily, at all times of the night and day. Find us on:
2. Do you have great travel stories and want to inspire others to travel through your own experiences?
We would love to hear from you! Check out our y Travel Blog Guest Writing Guidelines and send us your ideas!
NB: Due to the high number of requests for guest posts, we are now more selective to include topics that align with our current editorial calendar. We do give preference to writers we have worked with before, but expect to be accepting new writers later this year. The current publication waiting time for guest posts is 8 weeks
3. Are you pretending to be a travel blogger, but really you’re a spammer trying to get a free back link to your money-making site, by offering us dodgy articles?
No reply.
4. Are you a blogger and would like our support for your blog?
We love to support other bloggers. The best advice we can give here, is to build support through sharing and helping others, first. You’ll find that if you’re adding value to the online travel community, your support will grow naturally and organically. This is exactly how we built y Travel Blog.
Here are some posts we’ve published, where we give you all our hard-earned mistakes and lessons about blogging:
- 1. Press and Blog Trips: Making it Valuable for All
- 2. To All New Travel Bloggers
- 3. 9 Simple Tips About Travel Blogging
- 4. How to deal with lack of inspiration, motivation and writer’s block
5. Are you from a corporate brand, or representing a corporate brand, and have a genuine interest in exploring a mutually beneficial partnership?
We especially want to hear from you about sponsorship, advertising, paid sponsored posts and if you’re offering our community an experience that will enrich our lives.
6. Are you trying to sell us something?
We get pitched to all the time.
Please understand that if we don’t reply, it means that in the list of our many priorities (kids, blogging, travel, earning an income to feed our family!), your email may not get attention, especially if your offer doesn’t suit our needs.
7. Do you want something valuable from us, for free, for very little money, or without offering anything of value in return?
These requests distract us from doing what’s most important. We are no longer replying to these requests.
Now, with all that aside, let’s get back into the fun stuff! Sharing and inspiring and making each other laugh ![]()
Looking forward to connecting with you.
Caz and Craig
P.S If you have followed the guidelines above and you meet the criteria required to respond to you and we haven’t within 7 days, it is because your email is probably buried by those not following our guidelines and wasting our time. Please follow up with us again.
