We are only ten days away from the start of our 1 year road trip around Australia, a.k.a #yTravelOz, with our home state of New South Wales playing host for month one!
Things are insanely chaotic in Makepeace land and we are all feeling like we’re about to self-combust. (You can read over here why we are going nucking futs).
We’re trusting the Universe will bring us everything we need and open up time for us to get it all done. We are working at breakneck speed to prepare and are sleeping far less than we like.
But, that is okay, because soon I’ll be swinging in a hammock by a billabong somewhere out bush.
As our trip is so epic, we are only planning in small stages and our schedule is still pretty flexible. That is the way we like it. We are way too indecisive and go with the flow people.
We don’t have a lot of activities planned yet, as we plan to discover more as we travel and fill in the gaps with local tips – that’s where you guys come in!
We’re trying not to do too much for the first month to give us time to adjust to life in a camper trailer and find our groove. That is blogging, playing, travelling, teaching, work life balance.
As a result, we decided to skip a visit to Canberra, our nation’s capital. Can you travel around Australia and miss such an important place? Yes of course. You must always plan your travel based upon your needs and interests.
At this moment, I want to have SLOW and relaxed travel and my heart is just not calling me to Canberra (sorry). There’s a lot to see in Canberra but I think visiting so close to departure and the intense few months we’ve had will turn me to cigarettes.
When you travel with kids you have to be smart about your decisions and try not to cram too much in.
So, on the 30th September we start heading south from Sydney for southern NSW, an area we have not explored much.
We need your help!
We have a few things planned for this region, but we are missing your tips. We LOVE getting tips from our readers and local people.
In case you didn’t know, we love beaches, nature walks, coastal drives, bike riding, cool cafes, family friendly beer gardens, adventure, fun things for the kiddies, and free stuff!
So don’t be shy, please jump out and tell us:

What should we do in the snowy mountains?
