It’s here! We’re excited and our reader’s are excited too.
It’s been three years in the making: our first ebook where we share all our tips on how to get free and cheap travel + a whole lot more. It’s really a guide to help you create the travel life you love.
It’s been the greatest and most fulfulling thing we have created. We’re so grateful for deciding to embark on our #yTravelOz journey as it forced us to finally finish the book so we had a back up income stream.
But, its way more than an income stream for us, it’s a way for us to give back and help you travel more.
We know the wisdom contained in our ebook can change the direction of your life for ever. We know that it will help you create a lifetime of enriching memories and that gets us pumped up!
To prepare for the big launch, we created a series where we share the 5 biggest reasons you won’t travel and how to overcome those fears.
Resistance to change brings fear
Usually, when you decide to write a new chapter of your life you are met with resistance.
Resistance to change is a major – and normal – part of our lives. If you understand this and know what to do with it, you’ll feel only a few tremors rather than a 8.6 richter scale upheaval.
Most people give in to the resistance and as a result never end up doing what their heart calls them to do.
Over my 15 years of travel experiences, and helping those who do want to travel through this blog, I’ve discovered there are usually five reasons people won’t travel.
This is a life of regret and heartache that can easily be avoided.
One of my favourite quotes is by Randy Pausch:
For the Universe to work with you on creating your dreams, it has to know that you are fully committed, so it tests you with road blocks.
Change cannot come without breaking through the resistance holding you back into your comfort bubble. If you can move beyond that resistance you’ve entered a new realm called Your Desired Life.
It is frightening stepping into an unknown world to claim your dreams. It’s easy to give into the overwhelming voice of fear telling you all the reasons why what you want will never work.
Until you can understand how to use the fear to guide you, you have to listen to those who have done what you want to do.
These are the ones who can show you the clear path and help you jump the hurdles. These are the people who will support and encourage you in the pursuit of your dreams. They have walked in your shoes before and know the path that is easiest to follow.
The 5 biggest reasons you won’t travel
Over the 3 weeks we shared the five biggest reasons why you won’t travel.
We understand why these fears hold people back and why they are completely valid, but also why they are not.
There are thousands of people proving every day that these fears are unfounded. They are the ones before you and beside you who are living the life of travel you want.

[click on the links below to read each of the posts sharing how you can overcome each fear!]
- I can’t leave my family and friends
- I have too many responsibilities
- My career will suffer
- It’s not safe and I’ll be alone
- I don’t have any money
We shared why we understand these fears and why you should swallow them, as well as give you simple strategies to overcome them.
We’ve been breaking through those brick walls for 15 years so we totally understand where you are standing. Travel is not as scary as you think and there are really no reasons why you can’t start breaking down those walls today.
The brick walls I’ve struggled to remove
This series is relevant for me as I’ve been battling through a brick wall for many years. This post shows I swallowed my fear and made it happen.
It takes bravery to knock down the walls.
Bravery is not an absence of fear, it is the swallowing of it. I’m terrified of this new chapter I have walked into, but I know that if I really want to have that life I envisioned, I have to stop trying to find a way to make those walls disappear and just smash the goddamn things down.
In 2007, I wanted to write a book on how to travel the world. I had a burning desire to share and help people live their travel dreams. No one should miss out on travel because they don’t feel equipped or good enough.
I wasn’t following my dream to write this book because of my fears and the brick walls I created based on not feeling good enough. Thanks to doing Marie Forleo’s B-School for the past 4 months, I have learned how to own who I am and the value I can offer.
How to create the travel life you love
For the past 4 months, Craig and I have been busy writing that book.
It’s turned into a huge project we have given our heart and soul into. We’ve created pages and pages of our best tips and strategies to help you travel more. It’s mammoth and we’re proud of it. (Our designer has made it POP!)
The truth is we have a lot of insight and wisdom to offer those who really want to live a life of travel they love (well any life really.)
You can, despite your fears and feelings of not being good enough.
We want this travel life for you. We want you to live from that place of knowing you’re doing exactly what you were born to do. We want that freedom for you, that joy, the deep connections, the love and the laughter. We know how good it is and we want every single person to experience more of it.
We just ask you meet us halfway with your commitment. We can show you how to do it, we can believe in you, and cheer you from the sidelines, but we need you to be the one walking forward.
