“You’ve got to have passion”
Prince spoke about this several times on our walk through the Auckland Domain.
It kept popping up through our discussions on the Maori reclamation of land, the World Cup Rugby, his Mozzie (Maori-Aussie) nephews, and the passion that was evident in his own work in keeping the spirit and culture of his people alive in his homeland.
You will never have success without it.
Passion
It’s what leads us to the life of our choosing, to fight for causes we believe in, to barrack vehemently for our teams, and to create this miracle we call life.
It is the fuel of all creation.
“If there is one thing our Dad taught us it is to have passion and to live passionately, and for that I am so grateful,” my sister once said to me as we spoke of our past.
I agree.
I grew up with passionate parents.
My mother, although never figuring out what her work passion was- or maybe being to frightened to live it- would sing and dance around the house with passion that would cause us to giggle together as we watched.
I now recognize myself in her when Kalyra giggles at my own passionate song and dance routine around the house.
My father is seventy (shhh don’t tell him I told you that) and plays cricket for Australia. (the over 60′s team of course) He has lived and breathed cricket his whole life. His passion is evident in the way he’ll sit and speak about it for hours to ears that sometimes aren’t there. It’s the passion that finally saw his dream of wearing the green and gold become a reality.
It is NEVER too late.
You’ve got to have passion.
A lot of people spend their lives wondering what to do with it. It is much easier than we think.
Tap into your passion.
What is that thing that makes your heart sing? Don’t be afraid of it. If you are passionate about it then it means you were meant to live it.
If you are passionate about it, you will stick with it and success and your wildest dreams will come true.
Live life with Passion.
The results will be extraordinary. Imagine the world if we all channelled our energy into living our passions.

I really appreciated this post. I’m at the point in my life where I’ve known for a long time what my passion is; educating others about being environmentally responsible. I’m trying to get to my ultimate goal which is to work or start my own nonprofit where I get to do this everyday for a living, but have realized that isn’t as realistic as I thought. In the meantime however, I decided to get some teaching experience under my belt and do my 2nd passion, traveling, all at the same time might help me get there! So, off to South Korea I go in February 2012! These posts are really motivating though and I enjoy them. I follow you on twitter: @Lif3r4Lif3
Thanks Tyler! Your adventure in South Korea sounds amazing and I am sure it is helping to put you on the right path to your ultimate dream and passion. Sometimes we have to take little detours in order to learn and gain the momentum we need to pursue those things we really love.
Am now following you back on twitter. Love your motto
Aside from travel, I’m definitely still looking for my passion. I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with myself as a career when I return to Germany in a couple months, and it’s stressful. I know I want to do more with travel, but I don’t have a clue how!
Sometimes it takes a long time to figure it out, or we know what it is we are just to scared to live it. It took me a loooooooooong time to get over my fears and insecurities to just do it. Just keep asking the questions and be open to listening. The answers will come
You are spot on! Passion is GINORMOUS! I sometimes have a sense of passion and then lose it. Then I get it back and then lose it. I’m 23 years old so I ain’t complaining. Making any sort of income from a blog is a challenge enough but I’m doing it. Hey, it took a while but I’m doing it. Most quit before 6 months, right? I did not and neither did you!
Passion, passion, passion!
I think passion does come in spurts. Every thing you do has its challenges so you will have dull moments even though you love it. When it is your passion though you are less likely to quit.
I believe that passion is a clue to what our purpose here on Earth is.
Absolutely!! Couldn’t agree more. I love that
