  1. I actually like the one attributed to Mark Twain. He didn’t really say it and it isn’t as much about travel as it is a destination. However, I can say from experience it is very true:

“The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco”

  2. “You have brains in your head and feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You’re on your own and you know what you know and only YOU will decide where to go!”

Oh! The places you will go!
    -Dr. Seuss

  3. I love this!! Some of my all time favorite quotes. Whenever I am in a new city, I always think of the Proust quote and try and note the time that my mindset shifts from seeing new things, to seeing them with new eyes. Really enjoyed reading this man!

  4. I recently did a similar post, by favourite at the moment is: “Travel makes one modest, you see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.” – Gustave Flaubert

  5. Mark Scott-Davies

    Love this quote

“Stuff your eyes with wonder, live as if you’d drop dead in ten seconds. See the world. It’s more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories”

  6. Love all of them! I have been making my own lately as sometimes there are no words already spoken to express MY feelings. My facebook page and twitter—@TTs Trippin and my Pinterest board “Travel Inspiration/Quotes” has some of the ones I have made using my own pics and words. A couple (words only) “Traveling is like breathing for me, it sustains my life”, “While a vacation is meant for relaxing, traveling is energizing”, “I don’t want to have anything, I want to SEE everything”, “I don’t travel alone to get away from anyone, I travel alone to get closer to me”. You can see them with my pics on my Facebook page 🙂 THANKS for sharing these and ALL your fabulous information!

  7. I love the Helen Keller one. It always reminds me and gives me comfort that if I don’t ever take risks in life, than it’s not much of a life to live.

  8. I found these on Pinterest! I absolutely love them and gets me excited for my next adventure to South East Asia! if you have any travel tips for me, I’d greatly appreciate it!!! Cheers!
