Here are my favorite travel blog posts for the week. Each week I’ll be choosing my favorites to share with you so you can read all the other fabulous travel writing that is going on out there in the travel blogging world. I have stumbled, tweeted, liked and commented on each post and I highly recommend you to do the same. Each week I am aiming to highlight a post that features different travel topics.
I am considering changing my weekly best of posts. I may be changing it now to monthly or moving it more to just featuring our favourites on our fan page. Tell me what you think in the comments below.
The Great American Shame by Kelly at Travel Bug Juice
I love this post about travelers feeling like they have to scurry into McDonalds on their travels with face hidden as they don’t want to be recognized for displaying American traits. This lead to the deeper discussion of how Americans can sometimes feel shameful about being American and can try to hide that sometimes.
Uganda Part 2 – Kisoro, gorillas, Mgahinga National Park and a visit to the orphanage. by Adam Kennedy at Ultimate Trans Africa blogThere are some really awesome photos in this post of the gorillas Adam and the truck visited in Uganda. I can’t believe how close they were allowed to get to the gorillas. It is such a beautiful adventure to have.
Valuable Lessons we Learn From Travel by Keith at velvet Escape
On Keith’s post, he shares the responses from several travellers on what is the most important lesson they have learned from travel. There are some really great responses here which highlights why travel is such a wonderful adventure to have.
Rejuevenating mud bath at Nha Trang By Anthony and Elise from Positive World Travel
These guys produce great videos and are ones to follow. I enjoyed reminiscing my time at the Nha Trang mud baths in Vietnam through their video. Except there were a lot less people when we went.
Is Anybody Out there? Hang in there travel bloggers by Amanda at a Dangerous Business
A great post about the frustration that comes, not just with travel blogging, but with any path you are taking that leads to the top. It is going to come with challenges, problems, and people in front of you almost at the finish line. What you need to do is say YES, I will be successful no matter what and all these challenges will fall behind you as you empower yourself to victory. Success is an attitude.

Nice picks, I missed a couple of these.
Thanks
Good picks. Here is to another great week!
We loved Kelly’s post on “The Great American Shame.” Gary over at Everything Everywhere wrote a really excellent piece as well that I though eloquently approached the idea of an “authentic experience” and not exporting western culture. Here is the link: http://bit.ly/af5p5H
