Benefit of short breaks: You can pack beautiful shoes
I’ve recently discovered a benefit of taking a short-term break.
You get to pack beautiful shoes.
When travelling long-term the only shoes I pack are thongs, hiking sandals, and boots.
Never heels.
I’ve been throwing heels in the suitcase lately.
I don’t often get to wear them, but I definitely make an effort. I’ve been a backpacker for so many years, I now really enjoy embracing my womanhood with a bit of fance every now and then!
Meet Jojo, my latest heels from Ziera Shoes.
I first tried them on a few months ago and swiftly put them on my bucket list. They were the most comfortable pair of heels I’ve ever worn. I rarely wear heels because I am tall, but mostly because they are killer for my feet.
Ziera shoes are made with comfort, style and support in mind. They mould around your foot and and so much cushioning that you can barely even tell they are heels!
I tested them out at the Problogger conference.
I wore them during the conference and for two evenings out, traipsing all over the city to bars and restaurants and back to our hotel.
I did not end up walking down the road barefoot and Craig did not have to piggy back me, both of which have happened several times this year with other shoes.
So I have proven that you can wear beautiful girly shoes when you travel. Lots of women do.
And why not? Travel is all about feeling good.
Do you pack heels in your suitcase?
Listen up ladies! Check back on the blog next week, as I am giving away another two $300 voucher to buy yourself a pair of Ziera.

Thanks Andi!
I love bringing a pair of heels – I always try to fit them in. They don’t always get a lot of wear, but I always feel a million bucks when they come out! The hardest was after the Camino de Santiago. I did not pack any for that trip, but found a gorgeous pair in San Sebastian after I was done. Could barely walk around the block in them…but slowly, I built it up! A dinner near the hotel here, a coffee shop there! Absolutely love them! Sometimes a girl just has to be girly! What can I say.

I think wearing the heels makes you feel like you are doing something different from the usual sandals and thongs. It’s nice to embrace the womanly side of you for a change and for just a moment.
Love the rationale and love that pink dress!

Thanks Emily! I do love that dress
Nice! I am all about comfort shoes – in everyday life and especially when I travel and am doing a ton of walking. I don’t pack heels unless I’m going to a wedding (and even then, I just pack wedges) since so many countries have cobblestones everywhere and you can easily break your ankle in a stiletto!

Definitely not something you want to do on your holiday!! I don’t know how anyone can wear stilettos. i fall over looking at them. I felt very grounded in these shoes.
Traveling is a lifestyle, then trying some “new stuff” can be considered a “short break” because everybody needs to have some time for their very selves-to try another activity. Carrying and wearing these pair of shoes may not get a popular vote as travelers, but at least, it can break your routine.
I completely agree Jim- travel is a break from normalcy- wearing heels is definitely an adventure for me
