Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. It covers 18,989 square kilometres (7,332 sq mi) and extends 360 kilometres (220 mi) from north to south and 65 kilometres (40 mi) from east to west. To put it into scale, it is roughly the same size as the country of wales.

We spent four magical nights in Kruger, camping out under the stars listening to the roars of lions and hippos. It is our favourite National Park in Africa due to it’s high concentration of wildlife, all the big 5 animals (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino) are found at Kruger, it’s campsite’s and ammenities are great, and it’s road system is easy to navigate.

Our favourite campsite is the Lower Sabie Camp. It has a large concentration of wildlife nearby, and we did an organised walking safari from the camp. We also did a night time game drive, and many early morning and late afternoon drives by ourselves with our hire car.

Kruger National Park is a MUST visit whilst in South Africa!
