16 Photos of Cottesloe Beach, Australia
Recently I visited Cottesloe Beach for the first time during my attendance at the Perth International Arts Festival.
Cottesloe is a beach-side suburb about a 15 minute drive from the city of Perth in Western Australia, and is one of the best places to watch the sun set over the Indian Ocean. Unfortunately I was only able to be there in the morning.
The town of Cottesloe is famous for its beaches, cafes, relaxed lifestyle, and it’s Sunday sessions which is when locals throng to the beachfront pubs to watch the sun go down whilst enjoying a few drinks and some music with their mates.
Because of its crystal clear waters and regular swell, Cottesloe beach is also a popular place for swimming, snorkeling, and surfing.
Enjoy the photos…

Wow, the pictures remind me a lot of San Diego, California!
Hey John,
I’ve also been to San Diego and they are both great coastal cities with great climates and beach culture!
Beautiful! What’s with the burning trees?
I was going to ask the same thing – i live just down the road from Cott and I know nothing about it – I might have to call a local!
Hey Kate,
It was a part of the Dawn:Dusk ceremony which was the opening ceremony to the Perth International Arts Festival. See related blog post: http://www.ytravelblog.com/60-years-strong-perth-international-arts-festival-piaf/

The relaxed lifestyle is wonderful here. Also, I think that people are more open-minded in Australia than in many other areas of the world.
Hi Cynthya,
Yes Cottesloe has a great vibe to it, and everyone is out and about appreciating the environment there!
New to your blog — you have some incredible pictures. My brother recently lived in Australia for 10 months and never made it to Perth. I’ll have to show him what he missed
Thanks and yeah, Perth and Western Australia is amazing!
The beach looks stunning! Argh, I’ve got to get over the the west someday. Bondi ain’t got nothing on Cottesloe!
…and you can actually find a place in the sand to put your towel. Sydney is a madhouse compared to Perth
My home town is looking good as always.

I’m with Andrea, this may be the best small city on Earth…
Hey Nate, it would be hard to beat!
Yeah, Cottesloe is beautiful and is definitely one of my favorite beaches. Check out City Beach too sometime if you can.
